Journalist Joshua Johnson sat down with Dr. William Hanson, this week, to discuss his recent book “The Edge of Medicine.” Dr Hanson describes some of the newest technologies utilized to more efficiently diagnose illnesses in patients and some of the history that inspired these advancements. For example, the electronic nose detects infection, such as pneumonia, based on a person’s breath.
